The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is a new NHS funded service in Engalnd. It gives you the chance to change how your GP sends your prescription to your pharmacy. Your GP will send it electronically direct to your nominated pharmacy instead of issuing a paper prescription. Mossley Chemist is ready to offer you EPS, however not all GP Surgeries are ready, please contact a member of our pharmacy team for details of participating Surgeries.

Medicines Use Reviews are an NHS service offered by specially trained pharmacists to help you get the most benefit from your medicines and learn more about side effects, interactions etc. Mossley Chemist Pharmacists are accredited to provide Medicines Use Reviews. The review is an opportunity to sit privately with the pharmacist and have an informal chat about your medicines. During the Medicines Use Review the pharmacist will answer any questions about your medicines, discuss how well they work for you and consider any possible improvements that could be made such as making sure all your medicines run out at the same time. The review should take about 10-20 minutes, is completely confidential and free of charge. If needed the pharmacist can make written recommendations to your GP. Monitored dosage systems (MDS) are a way of helping patients to take the correct medicines at the correct times and are often refered to as 'trays'. Trays are suitable for customers who have stable conditions (where their medicines do not change regularly) and have difficulty remembering at what time to take which medicines or those that cannot manage their own medicines. Once a tray is set up we handle everything on your behalf.

The New Medicines Service (NMS)is a new NHS service offered by specially trained pharmacists to help you get the most benefit from any new medicines the Doctor has prescribed for you. Mossley Chemist Pharmacists are accredited to provide the NMS. We will discusss the benefits of the new medicine with the patient as well as, side effects, dose, times, cautions, interactions etc. We will answer any questions or concerns the patient may have. The Pharmacy will then follow up with the patient over the next few weeks to check how the patient is responding to the new medicine

Our service offers complete flexibility when ordering your repeat prescription. We can order your prescriptions from the doctor on your behalf or you can order them yourself. If you'd like us to order on your behalf you can either telephone us, call into the pharmacy or order online. When your prescription is ready we will collect it from the doctors and either... Keep it in the pharmacy ready to collect. OR... Deliver it to you free of charge. Remember it can take 3-4 working days for your repeat prescription to come back from your doctor so please order in plenty of time. Delivery restrictions apply please see our Terms and Conditions.

Repeat Dispensing Scheme is a national scheme set up by the NHS whereby patients who have stable conditions and receive regular medicines can have better access to their repeat prescriptions. At participating surgeries your doctor produces a batch of prescriptions with up to a six months worth of medicines. We collect the batch and keep this in the pharmacy, we can then dispense your medicines as and when you require them for up to 6 months. Simply phone us when you are running low on your medicines and we will have your medicines ready for you the same day. Your doctor will still want to see you regularly, usually at the end of each batch of prescriptions. This is to make sure your medicines are still suitable for you and that your condition remains stable. If when you go see your doctor for a checkup they are satisfied that it is safe to do so they will issue another batch of prescriptions and the cycle continues.
